About
After graduating from the University of Kansas with a BFA in Visual Communication in 2000, the first half of my career focused on graphic design for print and web (here’s my old portfolio — be warned, it's in Flash). Later roles took me deeper into web design, where I became very experienced with HTML/CSS and gained some development experience. Having worked on several e-commerce sites, I started independently researching UX best practices and conducting formal user testing. I eventually accepted an opportunity to join a newly formed UX team at Garmin, where UX design became my primary focus, though I still continued to provide front-end code for my work. In recent years I have branched beyond web design into application design, accessibility, and delivering projects through documentation as opposed to development. In my spare time I work on my personal art though DJing, music, music videos, and playing with fire.
